ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Revd Mark Madeley was ordained in 1993.  He has served the Church in Derbyshire, Yorkshire, and currently is Rector in Weston-super-Mare. His first visit to Israel was in 1995, a visit that had a huge impact on Mark.  He started to lead tours and in 2001 for his own travel company to assist others in their visits.  He is also the founder and President of Christian Friends of Magen David Adom UK (Israeli ambulance service) and in 2020 was given the privilege of becoming Vice President of the Jewish charity Magen David Adom UK.  Mark’s interest in all things Israel and Jewish took an interesting turn in 2009 when he discovered some of his ancestors were Hungarian Orthodox Jews who were murdered in Auschwitz.
